I have atlast completed the autobiography of Osho- ‘The Autobiography of Spiritually Incorrect Mystic’. As I said before, the book is really involving and it seemed like a journey through the life of a ultimate rebel of modern India, who has questioned the society, the never questioned orthodox practices, the essence of religion and the kind of hypocrisy and politicization developed around it.
Born in a remote region of India, in a orthodox Jain family in 1931, where the Indians were still struggling to attain their physical freedom. Osho learned and lived against the conventional practices that society has been following blindly. As he grew, he has built his mystic zone around him spiritually and philosophically and started propogating his tested and self-experienced principles of life, world through his speeches. He belives that enlightment happens only when one has seen passed through the hierarchies of life. Hence, the world sees a Buddha, a Mahavira who has thrived for the enlightment after enjoying the riches of world. He also said that religion is not a mean to reach enlightenment, as the thought of keeping God as an icon in our mind really blocks the purpose.
He has tested and self experimented various kinds of meditation techniques including ‘Dynamic Meditation’, ‘Kundalini Meditation’, ‘Nada Brahma Meditation’ and many more. Though he recieved severe criticism from the nation wide, there has been always a school of thinkers and followers who admired him, which made his thoughts and teachings go worldwide. Setting up a world in itself, a center at Oregeon, USA, Osho continues to attract world audience as his followers. The influence and impact of Osho on US people has grown so much that at one time, the US entire government worked to destroy his commune ( he was poisoned during his 12 day custody), forced him a immediate exile from US and also made 21 countries not to welcome him.
Despite the world called him as ‘Sex Guru’ or a ‘rebel’, the thoughts and teachings of Osho through his speeches and books are age less and that address the global human without any discreetion on religion, race or creed. On his tomb stone at his ashram in Pune, it is written as “Osho Never Born, Never died, Just visited this planet between 1931 and 1990′.
I wil be writing more on this ‘greatest influencer after Jesus Christ’.
Keep waiting!!
