As the world is travelling in 21st century, one significant trend happening is, east which is philosophic-centric is turning west, while materialistic west is showing interest more on east, as we observe closely, the change is happening everywhere. Ofcourse, we are in globalised world…but looking at in microscopic mode, I think the shift is happening….!!

My friends say that I have a great taste of things. Hence most of them prefer my advice in buying a new thing ( whether it is a dress or a gadget or anything). Most of them say, I am materialistic, as they find me buying glasses, watches, mobiles once in 3 months. But the thing is, fortune doesnt favor me most of the times, as I keep losing things, what I buy anytime. Today, I have decided to make a list of things, what I lost in last  6 months:

1. Nautica Sun Glasses: Sorry Ram, it’s ur gift I know that, but still it happened
2. FastTrack Glasses
3. Titan watch
4. Timex watch: My birthday gift, this lasted only 2 days, It was all safe, till when it slipped from my hands when I was in a balcony in 4th floor.
5. Slid Mobile, Samsung: Poor darling, cant you stay away from my hands, when I am really angry.
6. Nokia N71: no comments…
7. Nokia 7210: Sorry, fate!! I told u….
8. Educational Certificates: This is most critical of all, during my transit to a new residence, I lost all my originals, which I got it now…:-)
9. Philips MP3: 4GB stuff, amazing thing…It was there with me for almost one year, then suddenly one night I lost it…
10. Reading Glasses: This became common for me, I buy a good one, I lose it or break it and I buy a new one, next month..Countless, I bought till now and in last 6 months.. the count is 5
11. A gold ring, head phones, my fav books..( I want to sum it up here, feeling embarrased )

I am trying to make a resolution note now. No more losing of things!!…

Last night I have watched much hyped movie of the season…sorry of 2009 – ‘Blue’.Till the release, the buzz is everywhere, online, offline, radio, TV, everyone are talking about that movie.

100 crore budget, shoot in Bahamas, underwater movie, hollywood crew, perfect casting, AR Rahman music – everything worked in favor that movie. One more buzz was that the movie is only 1 hour 57 sec.

When the movie released one week back, when critics shattered that movie, I thought thats their view. I thought of exploring it myself and went ahead to watch it last night.

After the movie is over, I had  no expression in my face, not that yuck factor I got, when I watched ‘Tashan’. I thought why… then I found myself that I was in deep love of that movie (promos; thats the fact), before its release.

I found these 3 reasons why you shouldnot watch the movie:

1. Can any Indian movie audience, watching all those drama, masala, senti…etc genre movies spare a movie without story. Absolutely not… BLUE HAS NO STORY….at all. The movie is absolutely a collection of  4 songs, 3 fights, some scenes involving designer clothes, great locales, champagnes, great babes…thats it… you really dont know when the movie started and when the interval came.
2. Despite the ‘thinner-than-a-wafer-thin-storyline’, if you expect some good performances from any of the casting, you are terribly disappointed. All the actors acted putting flat face in the movie. Sanjay Dutt is in his worst form his career ( I was his fan some years before). The overweighted man has no life in his performance. For Akshay Kumar, it is another movie to party and freak out ( not act). He is totally sleeping in the movie. I dont want to talk about other actors… even a great actor like Kabir Bedi is totally wasted. He has no single dialogue throughout the movie.
3. 100 crore budget, 1hour 57 minute movie, you will be really enthused to find out what’s there in that movie, sorry disappointment again….

Now the only 2 factors that you might consider to watch this movie

1. If  you are a fan of Hollywood high-adrenalin rush movies like The Fast and the furious stuff, some scenes of this movie are a definite treat to you, especially the chase scene in Bahamas is really superbbb… a bike chase of almost 6 minutes, which starts in a busy town, takes you to the woods, farm lands, rail tracks surrounded by amazing locales. Only few can visualize such master piece, thanks to the hollywood cameraman.
2. Never ever Indian Cinema will bring you that amazing underwater experience as Blue… I can put this black and white. Right from the beginning (infact from the titles).. you will be enthralled by that underwater beauty.. again thanks to the cameraman..

The news that hit the headlines today, not only shook India, but the entire corporate world, Disclosure of Satyam’s Fraud by software mogul Dr.Ramalinga Raju in his resignation letter. While Satyam’s stocks has been steeping down after their controvertial decision of Maytas buyout, yesterday’s news has made them bite the dust at an all time low (investors lost 10,000 crore on a single day).

This certainly raises eye brows on the Indian company’s corporate governance, but really the common investor who has had raised faith on the future and invest his monies was thrashed brutally. Raju might undergo a trail, he might be sued, he might be jailed. But at the end of the day, this is Rich Man’s Country. Any thing can turn out at any moment of time. He might walk freely from the lands of law. Though India ranks 2nd in the world in terms of corruption, with such a heinous act of breaking all the investors’ hopes and employees beliefs and above the code of corporate governance (for which Satyam is famous for) Satyam has joined the likes of Enron.

Putting facts aside, Satyam case has taught a few good things:

1. A very good case for budding enterprenuers. Try to touch the sky with your feet on earth
2. Values matter

Finally to the Indian corporate governing body, a transperant stringent monitoring body in place should evaluate the performance of the companies from time to time, more stricter than before!! (Well SEBI is in action now). Let’s prepare for news from now on.

Jaago its AIDs day, take your turn and spread the awareness. Thats what I decided to do something when I wokeup in the morning (Coincidentally, today is one of female friend’s birthday).

Thanks to my mom, who explained to me about what is AIDS when I was in my 8th class. I really appreciate her maturity and the kind of social responsibility she has taken at that time. When I was in my 9th class ( I remember its 1997), suddenly one of my closest friends, slammed my doors on a winter midnight. He said that his dad is seriously ill.

My mom accompanied us to their home and was shocked to find that his father is almost looking like a skeleton (He used to maintain a amazing physique and I remember we use to ask him to show his biceps). When he saw me, he lifted his fragile fingers, waved to me and gave a thin smile. I returned him a affectionate smile and went to him closer and asked him about the condition. I couldn’t hear his reply as it felt it came from a deep valley.  His mom said he was attacked by pnuemonia. But my elder brother took us outside and told us that he was attacked with AIDS, and is gonna die in a couple of days.  We didn’t reveal the cause to any one including his mother.

Next time I met his father during his last journey to the burial ground after two days. All of our school friends joined the procession. Some days later, we got full information on this evil and took an oath to not to get to its claws at least by conscious.

A couple of years, I made a short film on AIDS, with the concept of welcoming the AIDS victims back to the society and gift them a new life.

Though of you, who might know about AIDS should understand this. Its like a hell, for the one is experiencing it and the ones around him. Spread the awareness as much as you can.

Use Condoms for a safer sex. Play safe…..!! Thats my message…

Couple of years back, I met the same pal, who was once a topper in our school. Now he is living a distressful living with earning money from hand to mouth. He was cursing his father for bringing such a fate to his family.

Last week I was really upset for two reasons. One with sudden disappointments on the personal side and the second one is of course the incident which upset the whole human world-terrorist attacks@Mumbai.  The issue that raised TRPs of all the news channels by 278% (the greatest increase ever), paced the pulse of common Mumbaikar, gripping their lives in their hands and made the whole world shocked at such a bizzare act of terrorism. I don’t want to unfold on what’s and how’s.

The whole weekend I was catching the aftermath feelings of a common Indian and ofcourse some of my foreigner friends across the world.  The first word I heard over all is ‘Long live the spirit of Mumbai’. ‘All hail Mumbaikar’. Mumbai has experienced the heat of terrorism several times. The serial blasts of 1993, 2006 might not have glared from our memories. But a standing ovation onbehalf of the whole humanity for their unbreakable spirit, solid undeterred  belief in their city.  One of my friends who is from Mumbai, shared the same feeling with me. ” Before a muslim or a hindu, or a parsi we are all mumbaikars” I was really delighted to hear such a statement.

The involvement of Pakistan in the issue might or might not be proved, the terrorists dogs might strike back with more collateral damage across India in the name of religion, but my fellow Indians, let’s take the spirit of Mumbaikars in us. Imbibe the oneness among us.

Let’s face this fact, terrorism is a virus which affects like a slow poison that starts with a bang affects our culture, our belief, our harmony slowly. India is a country rich with culture, integrity and these terrorists want to hamper those. If economy is destroyed, we can get that back. But if our spirits or the  culture is dead, then India is dead.

Terrorism has no religion, only a foolish yet dangerous intention to rule the world.

Let’s rejuvenate the spirit of oneness among us. Spread the word ‘Before being a hindu, before a muslim or a christians we are all Indians and above all we are all universal humans’.

Hey! Scar faced terrorism- Fuck U!!!

Yesternight I was watching a telugu movie called ‘Gamyam’- the movie though a small budget film turned out be a eye opener on the theme of life. The film portrays the journey of a spoil brat millionaire transforming into a  human, through a series of heart touching incidents in his life. There’s one dialogue in the climax, which really made me think ‘At the time of death there will be no pain, but only a pinch grief for leaving his beloved behind for the other world’.

At every moment, we do have the inherent fear of losing our beloved, our close to heart- the fear which is more darker than any sort of fears. We feel that our parents, children, our dearest friends should be with us for the rest of life. Losing them!! should not be anywhere in the corner of our life.

But life has something different for everyone, something tricky that even a wizard can’t understand.  As Shakespeare said’ The world is a drama stage’, Every one comes to play their god scripted role and go back to the screens. The eternal drama of life goes on even without me or you…!!

I had seen lot of people, who literally spoiled their life, their presence when they had lost their beloved. They led their rest of lives in the memoirs of the departed. Life should go on!!  The departed have left a responsibility of living their rest of life through our smiles, through our joys.

I’d experienced tons of harsh moments since my childhood. Most of my beloved, including my parents departed from my life and from this world. But they have left me some inherent responsibilities of living their life, passion through living my life fully. I dedicate most of my smiles in a day to my beloved. I want them to live their dreams through me. I think that’s the way of living one’s life.

For the last two to three days, the news of shattered US economy, shut down of global major banks, probable fears of more damage to the economy has been hitting the media wires continuosly. Virtually, there are fears every where. Even in India, hyderabad, when I was at a coffee shop I overheard three teens seriously talking on the aftermath issues and its impact on India.

Yes, India has viewed the direct impact in a more devastating way. Markets started fluctuating, IT majors started firing thousands of employees everyday, sky rocketting of gold and silver prices-tension is every where.
